512 Hz tuning fork

512 Hz · a high C

We list our forks in scientific pitch, where C is 256 Hz. A piano tuned the usual way puts middle C a little higher. So a tuner app reads our C forks as a little low. That's expected.

Safety and care

Strike the forks only with the mallet or on the puck. A table, stone or metal edge can chip a fork and change its pitch. Strike away from your face. To listen, hold the fork about two inches from your ear, without touching it, and keep the prongs away from your eyes. If a fork has weights, leave them where they are: their position sets the pitch. Keep the forks in their bag, pouch or case. This is not a toy: keep any small parts away from young children.
